Important: The BRITA INTENZA water lter
cartridge must be rinsed in water before the
rst coee or espresso is dispensed. Please
read how to do this in the instructions.
When the display indicates it is time to change
the water lter, or at the latest after 2 months,
the cartridge is no longer eective. Please
replace the BRITA INTENZA water lter
cartridge for reasons of hygiene and so that
there is no build-up of limescale (this could
damage the appliance). Each time you change
the cartridge, be sure to repeat the steps
described above.

cartridges can be disposed of with
the regular household garbage. If you
have more questions, contact BRITA
Consumer Service at 0844742 4800.
Replacement cartridges are available from our
Gaggenau Customer Service: Order number
467873.
Important: Please be sure to read the water
lter section in the instructions so that you
are familiar with the exact settings for your
appliance.
The lter cartridge must be removed before
one of the service programs (e.g. “Cleaning”
or “Descaling”) is started.
▯ Replacement lter cartridges should always be
stored in a cool, dry place in their original sealed
packaging.
▯ The BRITA INTENZA water lter cartridge may
only be used with tap water provided by water
utilities.
This drinking water is constantly checked and
meets the legal requirements governing drinking
water quality. If users are advised by the ocial
authorities to boil their tap water, BRITA ltered
water should also be boiled. When the ‚boil
water‘ notice has been lifted, the fully automatic
espresso machine should be cleaned completely
and a new lter cartridge inserted.
▯ Filter cold water only.
▯ Clean the water tank regularly.
▯ Remember that it is generally advisable to boil
tap water for certain groups of people (e.g. those
with weak immune systems). This also applies to
ltered water.
▯ Note for dialysis patients or those with kidney
disease: During the lter procedure there may be
a slight increase in potassium content. If you have
kidney disease and/or have to keep to a special
potassium diet, we recommend you consult your
doctor rst.
▯ If your fully automatic espresso machine has not
been used for a prolonged period (for example
if you have been on holiday), we advise you to
pour out any unltered water that is still present
and to leave the lter cartridge in the water tank.
Before you use the fully automatic espresso
machine again, remove the water lter cartridge
from the water tank, clean it and repeat the steps
for rinsing the lter cartridge as described in the
instructions.
▯ Water should be regarded as another food
product. Please use up water in the tank within
1 day.
▯ Please understand that we cannot accept any
liability or guarantee if you fail to observe our
recommendations on the use and changing of
BRITA INTENZA water lter cartridges.
